I’m sure by now you’ll know that I am a huge Star Wars fan! We’ve already had the pleasure of Gareth Edwards company on Soundtracking and it’s the dream to get time with the legendary John Williams. Star Wars: The Last Jedi is in cinemas now and I think it’s incredible. Writer/Director Rian Johnson has done a wonderful job. I was thrilled to get time with him to talk about his film and also working with John Williams on the score.

Did you know that Cillian Murphy used to be in a band that were once offered a 5 album record deal? Well you will hear him talk about that, but also how music has been a constant throughout his career, most notably in the creative way contemporary music has been used in the hugely successful TV series, Peaky Blinders. A real music fan who also adds music festival curator to his CV, I could have talked to Cillian for hours.

Two wonderfully talented people who are very easy to talk to. Val and Jon very kindly gave up their time twice to allow us to record the podcast. Their new film, Battle of The Sexes, is glorious with important messages, fun with fantastic performances. Call Me By Your Name will win awards next year! It’s beautiful, tender, funny and Luca Guadagnino I think, has made one of the most stunning and honest love stories ever. I hope i’ve done some justice in trying to get to the heart of the importance of music in his films, as i’m such a huge fan.
